About the maker
Curiosity is
a lifelong craft.
Born in 1953, Vassily has treated each chapter of life as an opportunity to learn, make and look more closely.
His first twenty-eight years were devoted to education and training. The next twenty-eight built a career in information technology, beginning as a consultant at Arthur Andersen & Co. and progressing through managerial and director roles with international technology companies.
Since retiring in October 2018, he has returned wholeheartedly to the pleasures of making. Photography, video, music composition, 3D printing, quilting, machine embroidery and machine knitting now sit alongside travel, reading and a determined exploration of artificial intelligence. The latter has already produced a personal archive of more than fifteen thousand AI images and hundreds of AI songs.
This site is part of that wider practice: a place for knitted work to be seen not merely as an accessory, but as a small, wearable experiment in colour, texture and form.
Still learning. Still making. Possibly a little grumpier each day — but no less curious.
